1
let’s chill out,
light a cigarette in the sun,
watching the smoke take shapes.

5
sometimes i’m afraid
of hitting my head
on the sky.

14: feedback
whom do I address in my poems?
I’m basically talking to myself.
is anyone listening?

22
i won’t trade humanity
for patriotism

23
she’s super
if only by night.

33
i just want to age slowly and gracefully
but most of all quietly

36
please stop sucking the life out of me
you used to give me something
to live for.

47
the sad thing is that
we don’t need a way to
erase bad memories
good or bad they all
D I S S O L V E
by themselves in time.

48
if they’re waiting for the revolution, i’m it
honestly trying to find something true in me.

51
i just want you to know
i wrote all of these
just for you.

60
you can’t have history
with no past
to chain you down
(so i deleted all our
text messages)

    1. perhaps. the small “shots” are numbered 1-70 and there’s a lot more that i haven’t posted, clearly. thanks for the positive response though!.

    1. that’s generally the feedback that i’ve gotten about these poems, the very nice feeling when people realize “i think those things too” or “i’m not the only one”
