Breaking News: Typhoon Season Uproots Shanghai – an Article by M. Pitter


As the end of summer typically marks the season for typhoons to come and release their atmospheric tensions, this year’s waves of tropical storms over Shanghai’s seaboard brought to residents an unprecedented intensity.

Many stores and companies have suspended their activities until further notice which is rare historically during typhoon season. Our correspondent in Shanghai, calf-deep in water, relays from her talks with residents that today people have been told to leave work early while office walls and ceilings leak, all beneath hail filled winds and opaque skies.
